# Kevin Usuga offers Nequi and Addi to his students with Whop embedded checkout

Kevin Usuga runs a low-ticket education business, teaching students across Latin America to sell ebooks, PDFs and templates online. His community has grown to more than 4,000 students, and most of them found him through his own low-ticket funnel.

In August, Kevin launched his system, 'Cómo hacer tu primer $1K en Whop', aka 'How to get to $1k on Whop'.

The challenge for those who enrol? Launch a whop and sell your first product.

In just one week, 700 students signed up and started building.

## The idea behind a low-ticket funnel

[High-ticket](https://whop.com/blog/high-ticket-offer/) funnels are attractive for one main reason: the higher the price, the less you have to sell to make profit.

Let's say you have one mastermind product priced at $10,000. You only need to sell a hundred of those to break into six-figures.

Kevin went the other way: sell something small, priced so almost anyone can say yes, then bring that buyer back for the next one.

At $20 a product (like a PDF, template, [ebook](https://whop.com/blog/how-to-sell-ebooks/)), it takes *5,000* sales to hit the same six figures.

But Kevin's student's aren't chasing 5,000 one-time buyers. They're selling to *hundreds* of repeat buyers who will keep coming back for the next low-ticket product.

> For me, low-ticket doesn't mean building a small business. It means selling accessible products, but doing it at massive scale.

## Cómo hacer tu primer $1K en Whop

Kevin launched his Whop challenge after his own students asked for it.

When he posted about moving [his business](https://www.academiamvp.com/completa) to Whop, the comments filled with the same request: *'hazte un reto de Whop'* – '*take on a Whop challenge'.*

The structure is simple:

- Pick one thing you know and package it: a PDF, a template, a mini-course.
- Open your whop, set up a store, and list the first product. Kevin records the walkthroughs; the community answers questions in real time.
- Get to your first $1,000.

Seven hundred students signed up in the first week. Whop's team worked through the sign-ups directly with Kevin to get each student's whop set up correctly under his partner account.

> When my students started seeing the opportunity to build low-ticket businesses on Whop, many of them began exploring the model on their own. And within a week or two, one of them sent me a screenshot: he had made $1,600 USD. A few days later, another student had reached $1,300. Then another one passed $1,000.

And, because Kevin is a [Whop Partner](https://whop.com/blog/whop-partners/), every student who signs up through the challenge is tied to his account, giving him a direct view into how his students are working through the challenge.

## How Kevin Usuga runs his funnel on Whop

But for a low-ticket funnel, the math only works if the fees and payout speed hold up at that volume. That's why Kevin chose Whop for payments.

Kevin moved his own business onto Whop *before* he brought his students over. His products, order bumps and checkout all run through Whop's [embedded checkout](https://whop.com/blog/embedded-checkout-for-platforms/), so a buyer pays and gets access without leaving the page.

At checkout, buyers in Colombia can pay with Nequi directly, or split the cost of a higher-ticket product with Addi, [Whop's buy-now-pay-later](https://whop.com/blog/buy-now-pay-later-on-whop/) option in the country.

Whop's fees run well below what Kevin was using before, with [payouts](https://whop.com/blog/embedded-payouts-guide/) landing faster.

> For us, adding local payment methods means reducing friction.
> If we want to sell at scale in Latin America, we can't expect every customer to adapt to how we charge. We have to adapt to the way they're already used to paying.
>
> - Kevin Usuga

> 💡 **Nequi has grown to roughly 27 million users, nearly*****all*****of Colombia's adult population. For a seller targeting Colombian buyers, offering local payment methods is crucial.**

Partway through the challenge, Kevin and a group of students went a step further and built Flowy, a tool on top of Whop that lets a seller design their own checkout page by dragging and dropping blocks.

![flowy](https://storage.ghost.io/c/12/7b/127b828b-bdc2-4972-9cf2-de857df9c324/content/images/2026/09/flowy.jpeg)

A student who wants their checkout to match their brand, instead of using a default template, can build it themselves in minutes.

## What's next for Kevin Usuga

Kevin's next target is 500 students earning $300 a day on Whop, consistently, from their own products. With 4,000 students already in his community and Flowy now live, the next cohort of the challenge is already coming together.

> For me, the most important thing is it's not just about teaching them to sell a product, it's about giving them tools to build something of their own and have more control over their life.
> - Kevin Usuga
