Classic children’s poems are like phonics 101. They teach enough word sounds to start kids decoding.
And when poems are read aloud engagingly (like my mom did), it's not unusual for a child to feel eager to read themselves.
It’s why I could read the sports page aloud at age 2.
40% of 4th graders can’t read their textbooks (New York Times). Over half these kids are likely to drop out of high school or graduate late.
They include children who are bright, well-mannered, and want to earn good grades. How can this happen?

But if your child can already read when they start school, no worries.
Help them read early (or catch up with their peers) using this low stress, enjoyable method.
