Not everyone wants a casual relationship with Stoicism. Likewise, not everyone wants an intense *academic* relationship with Stoicism. Between these two ends of the interest spectrum, there are people (perhaps like you) who want to adopt Stoicism as a life philosophy; people who want to truly commit to practicing Stoicism every day to the best of their ability. ## What is the Stoic Path? The Stoic Path is a guidance and mentorship program primarily for beginner to intermediate Stoics Created by Tanner Campbell and Kai Whiting. The Stoic Path is a community of individuals looking to commit more fully and consistently to practicing Stoicism as a life philosophy. This community provides daily journaling prompts, weekly homework assignments designed around Stoic exploration, a monthly bookclub, a vibrant Discord, and live interactive events. ## Why was the Stoic Path created? Before anyone can become a _master_ of something, they need to be _interested_ in whatever that something is. From there they require mentorship and guidance, for how else could they learn and advance in their interest? If someone asked you to analyze a film through the lens of Stoicism. How would you do that? Perhaps you would write the best analysis you could. You may even feel like you did a pretty good job of it. How would you know, though, if you actually _had_ done a good job of it without someone who knew more than you checking your work? If you're practicing Stoicism in a vacuum, you cannot know if you are practicing Stoicism _well_. This is why, in Stoic practice, mentorship is highly encouraged. Those who know nothing can benefit by guidance from those who know more, and those who know more continue to be guided by those who know still more. ## How does the Stoic Path work? Members are part of a private Discord server, from which homework assignments are given, and within which live discussions and lectures take place. Every day you’ll receive a Stoic journaling prompt, every week you’ll received active homework, and every month we’ll work through a book (from the Stoic perspective) chosen by the Stoic Path team. The Stoic Path works by keeping you in a state of Prosochē (paying attention) in concerns to your Stoic practice—the idea being that you're always thinking and learning about Stoicism. Which means you can grow, improve, and become a better Stoic.
