Dr Arikana reflects on the recent US Africa leaders summit
Dr Arikana Chihombori sits with Rutendo Matinyarare, Joshua Maponga and Damian Cook VP of Africa Diaspora Development Institute to discuss the pros and cons of the US Africa Summit that has just been concluded. According to Dr Chihombori the fact that US Africa Summit was held in December of 2022 in the absence of Congress members is an illustration that the United States had no real intention to get results from the US Africa Congress, becasue Congressmen and women are the ones that make decisions to do with the United States. She also points out that the congressman and women has just been through a vigorous election process meaning that they will be new Congress members come January 2023, and so even if the African leaders have met the current Congresspersons it would be pointless because there will be new appointees next January
