How I went from $0 to $10k selling a physical product at 18

Most people overthink their first product. I almost did too.

Here's exactly what happened with HoldMate — a MagSafe retainer case I designed, manufactured, and sold from scratch.

Month 1: Identified the problem. Everyone I knew lost their retainer. I realized there was no case that attached to your phone — the one thing you always have on you. Spent 2 weeks on a prototype.

Month 2: Found a manufacturer. I DM'd over 40 suppliers, got samples from 5, picked the best one. Total investment at this point: under $500.

Month 3: Launched with zero following. I posted on TikTok, Reddit, and sent product to 10 micro-influencers for free. One video hit. That single piece of content drove my first 100+ sales.

Month 4: Crossed $10k. Dialed in the ad creative, added a second colorway, and started building a real brand.

3 things I'd tell anyone starting a physical product business:

  1. Your first product doesn't need to be revolutionary — it needs to solve one clear problem

  2. Start selling before everything is "perfect" — real customer feedback beats your assumptions every time

  3. Content is your unfair advantage. If you can make one video per day about your journey, you will win

I'm now teaching everything I know inside BKR Growth. If you're 18-25 and want to build your first product brand, this is the place.
