The hotel room mobility routine that saved my back after 200+ travel nights

Spent 200+ nights in hotels this year. Here's the mobility/strength routine that kept me from falling apart:

  1. Hips first. Sitting in a middle seat for 4 hours destroys your hip flexors. 90/90 stretch, 2 min each side, every morning. Non-negotiable.

  1. Thoracic spine > lower back. Your back "pain" from travel is usually a stiff upper back forcing your lower back to compensate. Open book stretch, 10 reps/side.

  1. Strength doesn't need equipment. Bodyweight squats, push-ups, plank holds — 15 min circuit, 3 rounds. Do it before the minibar wins.

  1. Walk the terminal. Every layover is a chance to hit 3-5k steps instead of sitting at the gate scrolling.

  1. The real unlock: consistency over intensity. 15 min daily beats a 90 min gym session you do twice a month.

Built a coaching program around exactly this for founders who live on planes — Gravitas Fitness. Happy to answer questions if you're dealing with the same grind.
