The body fat lie nobody talks about

You don't need to lose weight. You need to lose body fat and build muscle. These are completely different things.

I spent 2 years "dieting" — eating less, doing cardio, watching the scale. Lost 15kg. Looked the same. Still felt rubbish.

Then I flipped the script:

  • Lifted heavy 4x/week instead of running every day

  • Ate more protein (2g per kg of bodyweight minimum)

  • Stopped obsessing over the scale and started tracking measurements + photos

  • Slept 7-8 hours religiously — this is when your body actually builds

In 12 weeks I gained 3kg on the scale but lost 2 inches off my waist. Clothes fit better. Energy went through the roof. Confidence came back.

The scale is the worst metric for transformation. Stop using it as your benchmark.

Your morning routine is why you're stuck

Most people wake up and immediately check their phone. Scroll for 20 minutes. Rush to get ready. Start the day already behind.

Here's the routine that changed everything for me:

5:30 AM — Wake up. No phone for the first hour.

5:35 — Cold water. Face, neck, wrists. Wakes your nervous system up faster than coffee.

5:45 — 20 min walk. No music, no podcast. Just you and your thoughts.

6:05 — Journal 3 things: what you're grateful for, what you're working on, what would make today a win.

6:15 — Train. Even 30 minutes. Non-negotiable.

7:00 — NOW check your phone.

This isn't about being a 5AM bro. It's about owning the first hour of your day instead of giving it away to other people's agendas.

Try it for 7 days. You won't go back.

The 3 things that changed everything for me

Two years ago I was overweight, had zero confidence, and was coasting through life on autopilot.

Today I'm in the best shape of my life, mentally sharper than ever, and actually building something I'm proud of.

Here's what actually moved the needle:

1. I stopped waiting to feel motivated.

Motivation is a myth. I committed to showing up every single day whether I felt like it or not. After 2 weeks, the discipline became the motivation.

2. I got around people who were ahead of me.

Your environment is everything. I cut the group chats that were going nowhere and surrounded myself with people who were actually doing the work. Your circle either pulls you up or drags you down — there's no middle ground.

3. I treated my body like a business.

I tracked everything. Sleep, food, workouts, progress. When you measure something, you improve it. When you guess, you stay stuck.

None of this is complicated. But most people won't do it because it's uncomfortable.

The 1% aren't smarter. They're just more consistent.
