Hello Nurses,
It's OFFICIALLY NURSES WEEK!!!!

Hello Nurses,
It's OFFICIALLY NURSES WEEK!!!!
Burned out nursing experience, others don't understand.
I've been a nurse long enough to know the pattern.
You graduate. You're passionate. You grind 3-4 shifts a week. Then burnout creeps in around year 2-3. You start picking up overtime to feel like you're getting ahead financially, which only makes the burnout worse. Rinse and repeat.
The problem isn't nursing — it's that nobody teaches nurses how to think about money beyond their hourly rate.
Here's what I've learned:
Your clinical skills are worth more than your W-2 shows. Health coaching, medical writing, legal nurse consulting, telehealth side gigs, CPR instruction — these are all things nurses can do on their own time that compound into real income.
Networking with other nurses who think this way changes everything. When you're surrounded by people who only talk about picking up extra shifts, that becomes your ceiling. When you're around nurses building businesses, investing, and creating multiple streams — your mindset shifts.
Burnout isn't a character flaw. It's a systems problem. And the fix isn't just "self-care." It's building a financial foundation so you're choosing to work, not forced to.
That's exactly why I built 1Nurse2Anotha — a private community where nurses motivate each other, network across specialties, and actually build additional income streams together.
If that resonates, the door's open. Come on in nurse bestie!
Welcome Nurses!
I am super excited that you decided to join Shift Talk & Side Hustles Community by 1Nurse2Anotha. This community was made STRICKLY for nurses to interact with each other on a more personal level.
This community is centered around building relationships, networking, helping each other get through stressful days at work or just life in general.
Shift Talk & Side Hustle community goal is to have one centralized location for nurses to collaborate, network, judgment free zone to help build back your drive and motivation, while also becoming financial free..
Now, "Let's build this to the #1 NURSING COMMUNITY full of family energy!!!!
Happy Nurses Week!
Thank You to ALL the LPNs, RNs, CNPs, CRNAs.
As we know, NURSE WEEK officially starts May 6-12, in honor of Florence Nightingale's birthday 5/12.
Here is a little history behind National Nurses Week:
In January of 1974, International Council of Nurses proclaimed that May 12 be International Nurse Day. But, short time later in February, a week was made by the White House as "National Nurse Week" by President Nixon which a proclamation issued.
In 1981, American Nurse Association and various nursing organizations rallied with nurses in New Mexico through congressman Manuel Lujan, that May 6 be National Nurse Recognition Day. So, one year later February 1982 ANA acknowledge May 6, 1982, as National Recognition Day for Nurses.
President Ronald Reagan signed a proclamation on March 25th 1982 proclaiming Recognition Day for Nurses. As years passed, ANA expanded the recognition to a week-long from May 6-12 starting in 1991 as National Nurses Week.
Finally, ANA designated May 6-12 in 1994, as a permanent date to observe NATIONAL NURSES WEEK?
Nurses always had to fight for recognition, and we fought a good fight for 20 years!
Let's continue to show why we need more recognition through grace, passion, and patience
Thank You American Nurse Association Board for being our backbone!!
