You don't have a motivation problem. You have a start problem.
Most high schoolers who are "lazy" are not lazy. They are stuck in the same loop:
The homework feels huge.
So they delay.
Delaying makes it bigger.
Bigger means they delay again.
By Thursday the pile is so ugly that sitting down feels like admitting they already lost. So they don't sit down.
I built Break The Loop for that exact stall — not for people who already study 3 hours a night.
The 15-minute rule
Pick one subject. Set a timer. Sit down for 15 minutes. When it ends, you are allowed to stop.
That is it. No "catch up on everything." No 6-hour Sunday. Fifteen minutes is small enough that skipping it feels dumber than doing it.
Two rules that actually matter
Same time every day. After school or before bed. Lock it.
Never catch up. Missed yesterday? You still only do 15 today. Shame-studying is how the loop stays closed.
If you have been putting off one assignment for days, do this tonight: open it, work for 15 minutes, close it. Then see if "I'll start Monday" still sounds honest.
That is the whole system. Start today.
