3 things I wish I had when I started trading forex

When I first got into forex, I was drowning in YouTube tutorials and demo accounts that never translated to real trades.

Looking back, here's what would have actually accelerated my learning:

1. A physical trading journal

Not a spreadsheet — an actual notebook where you write down your entries, exits, and emotions. There's something about pen-on-paper that forces you to slow down and think. Most beginners skip journaling and keep repeating the same mistakes.

2. Candlestick pattern reference cards

Having quick-reference cards on your desk beats Googling "is this a doji or a hammer" mid-trade. Muscle memory for patterns starts with constant visual repetition.

3. A structured learning path

The biggest trap for new traders is consuming content randomly. You end up with bits and pieces of 10 different strategies and can't execute any of them consistently.

That's actually why I started putting together curated trading boxes — physical kits with journals, reference materials, and structured guides so beginners have everything in one place instead of piecing it together from the internet.

If you're just starting out, even without a box: get a journal, print some pattern cards, and pick ONE strategy to focus on for 30 days. That alone puts you ahead of 90% of beginners.
