The blowup didn't start at homework. It started at the car door.

Most parents of ADHD kids think the problem is homework. But by the time your child refuses to sit down, the evening was already lost — fifteen minutes earlier.

Here's what actually happens between 3:00 and 5:30 PM:

The car ride. School stress is still rattling around. The noise. The questions. The sibling in the back seat asking about snacks. Your child hasn't had a single second to decompress.

The kitchen doorway. Shoes off, backpack down, someone's asking about dinner. The transition from outside to inside is where sensory overload starts stacking — and nobody sees it because it looks like a normal Tuesday.

The table. "Did you have homework?" One question. But it lands on top of hunger, fatigue, noise, and the backpack that's still sitting in the hallway. That one question becomes the match.

A 15-minute gap between pickup and homework can be enough to turn one request into three.

I put together a free Pressure Point Map that shows exactly where these friction points hide in your after-school routine. It covers the car ride, the kitchen doorway, and the homework transition — the three places where overload builds before anyone notices.

If your evenings feel like they go sideways for "no reason," this will help you see the reason.
