5 things Windows is doing right now that tank your FPS

Most gamers are losing 10-20% of their performance to stuff running silently in the background. Here's what's actually happening:

1. Telemetry services — Windows constantly phones home with usage data. These services spike your CPU at the worst times, especially during competitive matches.

2. Superfetch / SysMain — Supposedly "pre-loads" apps you use often. In practice, it thrashes your disk and eats RAM that your game needs.

3. Windows Search Indexer — Continuously scans your drives to index files. Great for finding documents. Terrible for consistent frame delivery.

4. Scheduled tasks — There are 50+ scheduled tasks running by default. Automatic maintenance, defrag scheduling, telemetry uploads — all firing during gameplay.

5. Xbox Game Bar & DVR — Even if you never use it, the background recording service reserves GPU resources. It's one of the biggest silent FPS killers.

You can fix all of these manually if you know which registry keys, services, and tasks to hit. Or you can do it in one click.

That's what I built Aegis Optimize for — transparent PowerShell scripts that handle all of this. You can read every line of code before you run it.
