The Blue Collar Training Problem Nobody Talks About
You work 10-12 hour days doing physical labor. You're already tired. Then someone tells you to go hit a 90-minute PPL split 6 days a week and eat chicken rice broccoli out of tupperware on the job site.
That's not a plan. That's a setup for failure.
Here's what actually works when your body is already getting beat up at work:
Training: 3-4 days per week, 45 minutes max. Compound lifts. Progressive overload. No fluff exercises. Your body is already getting volume from work — you need intensity, not more volume.
Nutrition: Your job burns calories. Use that. You don't need to starve yourself to get lean. You need the RIGHT calories at the RIGHT times. A solid protein goal, flexible meal timing that works around your shifts, and foods you'll actually eat.
Recovery: This is where blue collar guys have the biggest blind spot. You can't out-train bad sleep and constant stress. Simple recovery protocols (sleep hygiene, hydration timing, deload weeks) make the difference between progress and plateau.
I've coached guys who pour concrete, weld, do roofing, run electrical — all while building physiques they're proud of. It's not about having more time. It's about using the time you have better.
If this hits home, Aesthetic Online Coaching is where I do this 1-on-1.
