The 3 lighting mistakes ruining your gaming setup

Most gaming setups look mid because of three simple lighting mistakes. Here's what I see constantly:

1. Overhead light only. That single ceiling light is washing everything out. You need bias lighting behind your monitor — an LED strip on the back edge eliminates eye strain and makes your screen pop.

2. Wrong color temperature. Cool white (6000K+) looks sterile. Warm white is too sleepy. The sweet spot for gaming is 4000-5000K neutral white as your base, with accent colors (purple, cyan, orange) as secondary.

3. No depth layers. A single light source = flat room. You want at least 3 layers: monitor backlight, desk edge LEDs, and one ambient source (sunset lamp, neon sign, or corner floor strip). That's what creates the "how does your room look like that" effect.

Fix these three things and your setup goes from forgettable to screenshot-worthy.
