Why AI detectors flag your writing (and how to fix it)

I've rewritten hundreds of AI-generated essays and there's a pattern to why they get flagged.

The 3 biggest tells:

  1. Uniform sentence length. ChatGPT loves writing sentences that are all roughly the same length. Real humans vary — short punchy lines mixed with longer complex ones.

  1. Hedging language. "It is important to note that..." / "Furthermore, it should be considered..." — nobody actually talks like this in a real essay. Professors know it.

  1. Perfect structure, zero personality. AI writes clean 5-paragraph essays every time. But real student writing has quirks — a weird analogy, a tangential thought, a sentence that starts with "But."

Quick fix: After using AI as a starting point, read your essay out loud. Every sentence that sounds like a textbook, rewrite it the way you'd actually explain it to a friend.

Or just let us handle it. We rewrite AI content to read like a real person wrote it — guaranteed to pass every major detector.
