The 3 Nutrition Mistakes Killing Your Gym Progress
Most gym athletes train hard but eat wrong. After working with athletes on their nutrition, here are the 3 biggest mistakes I see:
1. Undereating protein on rest days
Your muscles don't stop recovering because you skipped the gym. You need just as much protein (if not more) on rest days. Aim for 1g per lb of bodyweight regardless of training.
2. Ignoring nutrient timing around workouts
That post-workout shake matters less than what you eat 2-3 hours before training. A solid meal with complex carbs and protein 2-3 hours pre-workout will outperform any supplement stack.
3. Chasing supplements instead of fixing your base diet
Creatine and protein powder are great — but they're the roof of the house, not the foundation. If your daily meals aren't hitting your macro targets, no supplement will save your progress.
The athletes who make the fastest gains are the ones who treat nutrition like training — structured, consistent, and progressive.
