The 3-day trial mistake most sports pick services make (and why we fixed it)
Most pick services give you a "free trial" that ends before you've even seen a full slate. One NFL Sunday, half an NBA week — not enough sample size to know if the analysis is actually good or you just got lucky/unlucky on 2-3 plays.
We built MayDay Picks (Tennis, NFL, NBA, NCAAF, NCAAB, MLB) around a simple idea: give people enough time to actually evaluate the process, not just the outcome of one game.
A few things we think matter more than most services admit:
Variance lies to you in small samples. 3-5 picks tells you nothing. Track CLV (closing line value) over 20+ picks before you decide if a service is sharp or just running hot.
Package by sport, not by "everything." A lot of services throw every sport in one feed so you can't tell which picks are actually their strength. We split ours — Tennis, the NFL/NBA/NCAAF/NCAAB combo, and an all-access tier — so you can see the record by sport, not buried in a wall of daily posts.
If a service won't show you the losses, don't trust the wins. Transparency on the bad weeks is the only way to actually judge a track record.
If you're currently paying for picks anywhere, ask for the full record — not the highlight reel. That's the actual due diligence most people skip.
