The biggest mistake beginner traders make (and how to fix it)

Most people blow up their first account for the same reason: they skip the boring stuff.

They jump straight into options, chase momentum plays off Twitter, and treat trading like a slot machine. Then they're down 40% in two weeks wondering what happened.

Here's the thing — the edge isn't in the trade. It's in the process.

At Alpha Edge, we break trading down into what actually matters for beginners:

→ Understanding risk management before you ever place a trade

→ Building a strategy you can repeat, not just a gut feeling

→ Learning to read the market instead of reacting to it

If you're 18-30 and serious about building real wealth through trading (not gambling), this is where you start. We've got signals, market analysis, courses, and a community of traders who actually want to get better.

No hype. No "get rich quick." Just the fundamentals that separate traders who last from traders who don't.

The 3 mistakes that blow up every beginner trader's account

I've been trading for years and I've watched hundreds of beginners make the same three mistakes. Every single time.

1. No stop loss. You think "it'll come back." It won't. The market doesn't care about your feelings. Every trade needs a defined exit BEFORE you enter. If you can't tell me where you're getting out, you shouldn't be getting in.

2. Position sizing like a gambler. Risking 20% of your account on one trade isn't aggressive — it's stupid. I risk 1-2% max per trade. That means I can be wrong 10 times in a row and still be in the game. Most beginners don't survive 3 bad trades because they bet the farm on each one.

3. Trading without a plan. Opening your broker app and "looking for something" is not a strategy. Before the market opens, you should know: What am I watching? What's my setup? What's my entry? What's my risk? If you can't answer those questions, close the app and go study.

The fix is boring. Have a system. Follow the system. Review your trades. Repeat.

I built Alpha Edge to give beginners exactly that — a system, daily analysis, and a community that keeps you accountable. If you're tired of guessing, come join us.
