Why most cap brands get fit wrong (and what we do differently)
Been deep in headwear sourcing for the past few months building Apex Headwear, and here's the thing nobody tells you when you start a cap brand: fit kills more brands than design ever will.
Most first-time cap sellers obsess over the embroidery and the colorway, then ship a one-size-fits-all curve that fits nobody. Panel count, crown height, and strap type matter way more to repeat buyers than the logo does. A 6-panel structured crown reads completely different on camera than a 5-panel unstructured — and your audience notices even if they can't articulate why.
What we're doing with Apex: small-batch drops, snapback + fitted options on every release, and we test fit on real heads before anything goes to production. No blind reorders from a catalog.
If you collect caps or you're building in this space too, curious what's been your biggest fit complaint with brands you've bought from. Trying to build the opposite of that.
