3 mistakes that wipe out beginner crypto traders (and how to avoid them)
I've been trading crypto for years and I see the same patterns destroy new traders over and over. Here's what nobody tells you when you're starting out:
1. Trading without a stop loss
"It'll come back" — famous last words. Every beginner thinks they can ride out a dip. Then the dip becomes a crash and they're down 40%. Set a stop loss on EVERY trade. Period. I personally never risk more than 1.5% per position.
2. FOMO buying into pumps
If a coin is already up 300% and everyone on Twitter is screaming about it, you're not early — you're the exit liquidity. The real money is made by identifying setups BEFORE the move happens. Learn to read charts, not timelines.
3. No position sizing
Putting 50% of your portfolio into one trade isn't bold, it's reckless. Professional traders scale in and out of positions. Start with 1-2% of your portfolio per trade. Boring? Maybe. But you'll still have a portfolio next month.
The difference between gambling and trading is a plan. If you want to learn how to trade with a system that actually works, I share daily signals and analysis in Apex Signals. Every alert comes with exact entries, stop losses, and targets — plus a community of traders who are actually learning and improving.
No hype. No BS. Just the work.
