I got tired of "500 AI tools" pages that dump every wrapper on the internet.

If you sell to US creators and operators, a bloated list is worse than no list. People don't have time to test 40 apps that all do the same three things.

The filter we use at Apexlayer:

1. Does it replace a job someone already pays for — editing, writing, outreach — or is it a toy?

2. Can a solo operator use it in under 15 minutes without a tutorial maze?

3. Does it still work next month, or is it a landing page with a waitlist?

If it fails any of those, it doesn't make the catalog.

That's the whole business. Fewer tools. Ones that actually ship work.
