An app asked for screen capture permission and the call returned false in under 10 milliseconds. The system log said the service does not allow prompting, so an entire capture framework was ruled out before its performance was ever measured. The first load of an on-device model after a new helper binary takes 5 to 10 minutes on an 8 GB laptop, the second about 2 seconds, and it looks exactly like a hang. The notary service returned 401 a day after the first successful build, and errexit left behind a signed, un-stapled build that looked finished.

For you if: you ship a macOS app to people who are not you. Assumes an Electron shell with native Swift helpers, and fluency with signing, notarisation and entitlements.

Not for you if: you ship to Windows or Linux. There is no Windows content in this bundle at all. Every signing, permission and toolchain incident is Apple-specific. It is also not for internal tools that only run on machines you administer.
