In one pipeline a still image costs 12.7 credits and a ten-second video about 148, roughly eleven times the still. That ratio is the whole argument for judging an idea before rendering it. The pipeline was an agent narrating a ten-step shell script, so variables did not persist between commands, captions arrived empty at random, and a day that produced nothing looked exactly like a day that produced two clips. An upload kept failing with a bare numeric platform code; a transcode was documented as the proven fix and it failed again on 2026-08-04, 2026-08-06 and 2026-09-09.
For you if: you run a scheduled generative pipeline that spends money without a human approving each render, and publish to platforms whose errors are opaque numbers.
Not for you if: a human is choosing each render. The gate exists because nobody is watching. It is also not about prompting, style or creative direction. This is the plumbing around the model.
