Don't start with the alphabet

If your child is Deaf or hard of hearing, skip A-B-C.

They don't need to fingerspell milk. They need to tell you they want it.

The first week should be ten signs you will actually use before bedtime:

milk · more · eat · all done · help · mom · dad · I love you · wait · bathroom

That's it. Use them at dinner. Repeat them until they're boring. Fluency starts when the sign and the moment hit at the same time — not when you finish a worksheet.
