5 Branding Mistakes That Make Your Business Look Cheap (and the fix)
I've designed brand identities for 50+ businesses over the past 3 years. Here are the patterns I keep seeing — and what to do instead.
1. Using more than 3 fonts
Pick one for headlines, one for body text. That's it. Every extra font dilutes your identity.
2. No consistent color palette
Your brand needs 1 primary, 1 secondary, and 1 accent color — max. Use them everywhere. Consistency builds recognition.
3. Low-contrast text
If people squint to read your content, they'll leave. Light gray on white? Stop. Accessibility = professionalism.
4. Template overload
Using a different Canva template for every post = zero brand recognition. Pick 3-4 layouts and rotate.
5. No brand guidelines doc
If you can't hand someone a single page with your colors, fonts, logo rules, and tone — your brand isn't defined yet.
I built Astralize Studio to solve this exact problem. Every template, kit, and resource follows real design principles so your brand looks intentional — not improvised.
