Why futures are the best market for beginners (and what no one tells you)
Most beginners get pushed toward stocks or crypto. I get it — they're everywhere on social media.
But here's what I've learned: futures have cleaner structure, predictable hours, and micro contracts that let you learn without blowing up a big account.
What actually matters when starting out in futures:
1. Trade the same instrument every day.
ES, NQ, MES, MNQ — pick one and learn it like a language. The price behavior, volume patterns, how it reacts to news. Jumping around is the #1 beginner mistake.
2. Size like your account depends on it (because it does).
Micro contracts exist for a reason. A $500 account can still learn on MES. No shame in small size — shame is in blowing up.
3. Pre-market matters more than you think.
Overnight levels, gaps, globex highs/lows — these are your map for the day. Trade without them and you're driving blind.
