The one thing most baseball bettors get wrong
Most people handicapping MLB games are staring at batting averages and ERA. That's the surface. The real edge is in the bullpen.
Here's what I mean: a starting pitcher might go 5-6 innings. That leaves 3-4 innings for relievers. And most books don't adjust lines fast enough when a team's bullpen is gassed from a series of extra-inning games or back-to-back heavy usage.
What I look for every single day:
Bullpen usage over the last 3 days — if a team burned through their top 3 arms yesterday, today's line is mispriced
Travel schedules — West Coast to East Coast day games are brutal on pitching staff
Umpire strike zone tendencies — a wide zone kills offense, a tight zone juices totals
This is the kind of breakdown my members get daily at Baddies Baseball Premium. Not just "take the Yankees ML" — the why behind every play.
Baseball season is a marathon. 162 games means more opportunities to find value than any other sport. The key is discipline and data, not gut feelings.
