2. Natural hair care is a skill most barber schools barely cover. If you want to actually serve your community, you need to learn protective styles, proper moisture techniques, and how different textures respond to heat and product. This is where the real demand is.

3. The chair is only half the business. Understanding retail, client retention, and how to price your services properly is what separates a barber making $30K from one making $80K+.

4. Get your license — but don't stop there. The exam is a starting point, not the finish line. Continuing education in color, texture, and scalp health will set you apart.
