The #1 thing killing intimacy in long-term relationships (and it's not what you think)
Most guys think satisfying their partner is about technique. It's not — at least not first.
After coaching men through this for a while, the pattern is almost always the same: performance anxiety kills presence. You're so worried about "doing it right" that you're not actually there with her. She feels the disconnect before she feels anything else.
The fix isn't a trick. It's three things, in order:
Regulate first. If you're anxious, your body is broadcasting it. Breathe, slow down, get out of your head before you try to "perform."
Talk before you touch. The couples with the best sex lives aren't the most skilled — they're the ones who actually talk about what feels good, out loud, regularly. Awkward the first few times. Non-negotiable after that.
Confidence is a rehearsed skill, not a personality trait. You build it the same way you build any skill — reps, feedback, adjustment. Nobody is born good at this.
If you're stuck in your head every time instead of present with your partner, that's the actual problem to solve — not "technique." Fix that first and everything downstream gets easier.
