Before 2027: A Memorandum
Before 2027: A Memorandum to Taiwan from Georgia and the Czech Republic
Event Background: The public event, "Before 2027: A Memorandum to Taiwan from Georgia and the Czech Republic," is hosted by Doublethink Lab. This event will provide in-depth insights into two key case studies—Russia’s political interference in Georgia and the Czech Republic’s legal and civic pushback against communist propaganda. These examples, drawn from afar, are intended to offer timely reflections and concrete strategies for Taiwan as it navigates shifting geopolitical currents and growing influence from the PRC.
We are honored to welcome distinguished speakers from Georgia, the Czech Republic, and Taiwan for a cross-regional dialogue. Tinatin Khidasheli, former Minister of Defense of Georgia, will share how Georgia has faced infiltration and threats under the looming shadow of its neighbor, Russia. Martin Hála, founder and executive director of Czech think tank Sinopsis, will present how the Czech Republic has countered communist propaganda through legal frameworks and civic action. Taiwanese legislator Puma Shen will respond by discussing how Taiwan can draw inspiration from above cases and translate into meaningful dialogue within Taiwan.
