Droplink — Self-Hosted Big-File Transfer
Send big files from your own server. Pay once.
Droplink is a self-hosted WeTransfer alternative for anyone who regularly sends large files — video editors, designers, agencies, photographers. WeTransfer Pro is $12/mo ($144/yr) and Dropbox Transfer is $11.99/mo; Droplink is $29 once, and it pays for itself in under 3 months.
Drag a file into the dashboard, set expiry, an optional password, and a download limit, and get a clean share link back. Uploads are chunked and genuinely resumable — kill your wifi mid-upload of a 40GB file and it picks up at the exact chunk it left off. Nothing is buffered in RAM, so a 50GB file is as safe as a 5MB one.
Chunked, resumable uploads with per-chunk retry — no practical size limit
Expiring share links with bcrypt password gates and max-download counts
Clean recipient download page: inline image/PDF previews, expiry countdown, "Download all as ZIP"
Email links straight from the dashboard via your own SMTP
Auto-cleanup sweep deletes expired transfers (files and DB rows) every 5 minutes
Storage quota with a used/free dashboard bar and up-front rejection
Admin dashboard with a full download event log (timestamp + IP)
One SQLite file + a files folder — zero telemetry, no third-party storage
Runs as a Windows desktop app or on a $5 VPS (Docker included).
