5 Mistakes Moroccans Make When Buying Home Appliances

After 50+ years selling appliances across Morocco, we've seen every mistake in the book. Here are the ones that cost people the most money:

1. Buying the cheapest option

A 2,000 DH washing machine that breaks in 18 months costs more than a 4,000 DH one that lasts 8 years. Always calculate cost-per-year, not sticker price.

2. Ignoring energy ratings

In Morocco, electricity isn't cheap. An A+++ refrigerator saves you 500-800 DH/year compared to a B-rated one. That adds up fast.

3. Wrong capacity for your household

A couple doesn't need a 12kg washing machine. A family of 6 shouldn't be cramming clothes into a 5kg one. Match the capacity to your actual needs.

4. Not checking voltage compatibility

Imported appliances from certain markets run on 110V. Morocco uses 220V. We've seen people fry brand new machines on day one.

5. Skipping the warranty

No warranty = no protection. Always buy from authorized dealers who can actually honor the manufacturer's warranty.
