The #1 reason Black Friday live shows flop (and it's not your product)

Ran and reviewed dozens of Black Friday live shopping shows. The pattern in every flop is the same: no re-hook.

Most sellers nail the opening 30 seconds, then coast for the next 40 minutes assuming the same viewers are watching the whole time. They're not. Live viewership is constantly turning over — new people join every few minutes and see whatever moment you're in.

If that moment is a slow product demo with no urgency, they leave in under 10 seconds.

The fix: re-hook every 8–10 minutes with a fresh angle — a new scarcity stat, a new social proof number, a new "here's why this matters" line. Treat every 10-minute block like it has its own opening.

Shows that do this consistently outperform shows with better products and worse hooks. Hook cadence beats production value every time.

What's been your biggest live show mistake? Curious what others have run into.
