Why I stopped selling one-off drops and switched to a membership
Ran a streetwear page for a while doing standard drops — post, sell out in 10 minutes, half the people who wanted it never got a shot, repeat. It's a treadmill. You're always hunting new buyers because nobody has a reason to stick around after they cop.
Switched to a tiered membership instead (Blacklist Club). Now people pay monthly for early access instead of camping a drop timer. A few things I noticed immediately:
Early access windows kill the bot/reseller problem more than any captcha does — real members get first pick, resellers lose their edge.
Recurring revenue means I'm not starting from zero every drop cycle. I know what's coming in before I even design the next piece.
Tiering it (basic / VIP / elite) let people self-select their spend instead of me guessing one price point for everyone.
If you're running a drop-based brand and it feels like a hamster wheel, this is worth testing before you burn out chasing the next viral moment.
