• Convertible car seats are worth buying once, correctly, instead of twice cheaply. The "upgrade later" plan usually costs more.

• Toddler shoes matter more than people think — wrong fit at this stage can actually affect how they walk. Don't just size up from baby shoes.

• Open-ended toys (blocks, ramps, simple pretend-play stuff) get way more use than anything with buttons/lights. The expensive electronic toys end up in a bin within a month.

• Sleep regressions at this age are usually about independence, not sleep training failing — worth ruling out before you panic-buy a new mattress or routine kit.
