Why your Airbnb photos aren't converting (and it's probably not the photos)
Ran the numbers on a batch of short-term rental listings this month and noticed something: the top-performing listings in every market almost all had one thing in common — a video tour near the top of the gallery.
Not better photos. Not a lower price. A video.
Here's why it matters: guests scroll fast. A static photo gallery gives them a series of disconnected snapshots and asks them to mentally stitch the place together. A video tour does that work for them — it shows how the kitchen actually connects to the living room, how much light comes through in the afternoon, what the walk from the bedroom to the deck feels like. That's the difference between "looks nice" and "I can picture myself there."
The part hosts get wrong: they assume adding video means re-shooting the whole property with a videographer. It doesn't. The photos you already have — the ones already in your listing — are enough to build a cinematic walkthrough from. No new shoot, no new gear, no blocking out a day for a shoot crew to show up.
If you're a host or property manager sitting on photos that aren't pulling their weight, that's exactly the gap we built Bnb Walk to close. Happy to answer questions on how it works for your specific listing — drop them below.
