I've filmed and livestreamed dozens of events — conferences, concerts, product launches, weddings. Here are the mistakes I see organizers make every single time:

1. Treating livestream as an afterthought

If you're planning the stream 3 days before the event, you've already lost. Audio setup, camera angles, and internet bandwidth all need advance planning. Two weeks minimum.

2. Relying on venue WiFi

Venue WiFi will fail you. Period. Always have a dedicated hardwired connection or a bonded cellular backup. One dropped stream during a keynote kills the entire viewer experience.

3. One camera = boring

A single static wide shot might "work" but it won't keep anyone watching. Even two cameras with intentional switching makes a massive difference. Three is ideal for most events.

4. Ignoring audio

You can get away with average video. You cannot get away with bad audio. Lapel mics on speakers, a board feed from the sound engineer, and a room mic for ambient energy. Non-negotiable.

5. No rehearsal or tech check

Walk the venue. Test every cable. Run a private stream test at least a day before. The number of "professional" setups I've seen crash because nobody did a dry run is insane.
