Watching 47 YouTube tutorials feels productive. It's not. You learn to code by writing code, breaking things, and fixing them. After every concept you learn, build something with it. Doesn't matter how small.

2. You don't need to learn everything.

HTML, CSS, JavaScript. That's your foundation. Don't get distracted by "should I learn Rust or Go?" debates. Master one stack deeply before you branch out. Depth beats breadth every time when you're starting.

3. Your first project will be ugly. Ship it anyway.

Nobody's first portfolio project is impressive. But having something deployed that you built yourself puts you miles ahead of someone still "preparing to start." Done is better than perfect.
