The 3 logo mistakes I see small business owners make (and how to avoid them)

I've designed logos for a bunch of small businesses now, and the same 3 mistakes keep showing up:

1. Too many fonts. One business used 4 different fonts across their logo, website, and Instagram. Pick ONE font family and stick to it everywhere — it's the fastest way to look legit.

2. No color system. If your logo is blue but your Instagram posts are random colors, nothing feels connected. Lock in 2-3 brand colors and reuse them on every post, story, and banner.

3. Designing for yourself, not your customer. A cute logo you personally love but that doesn't match how your customers think of your industry will actively hurt trust. A kids' tutoring brand shouldn't look like a nightclub.

If your branding feels scattered, I put together a simple package (logo + full social kit) to fix this in about a week without the agency price tag. Happy to answer questions here too.
