Why most 'pick' accounts blow up (and the fix that actually works)
Ran a lot of numbers before building Bravo Six, and here's the pattern that kept showing up in failed pick services:
Most pick accounts post picks the way a gambler picks - vibes, "gut feel," chasing yesterday's loss with a bigger play today. No consistent grading criteria, no closing line comparison, no idea if they're actually beating the market or just running hot for a month.
The fix isn't a "better bettor." It's removing the bettor from the decision entirely.
A model-backed pick sheet works because every play gets scored against the same criteria before it ever goes out - line value vs. the model's number, situational spots (rest, travel, pace mismatches), and a hard rule: if the model doesn't clear the threshold, it doesn't make the sheet. No sheet padding to hit a "5 picks a day" quota. Some days there are 2 plays. Some days there are 0.
The other piece nobody talks about: sizing. A 60% model isn't profitable if you're firing the same units on every play. Grade the confidence, size the stake, track the closing line on every single bet - if you're consistently beating closing line value, the long-run math takes care of itself even through losing weeks.
If you're thinking about running a pick service or a paid group of any kind - build the system first, THEN sell access to it. Selling access to your gut feelings is how you end up with a 2-month-old Whop and a bunch of refund requests.
Happy to break down the actual sheet structure if anyone wants specifics - drop a comment.
