3. One size doesn't fit all. Your neighbor's kid thrives with strict structure? Great. Yours might need a mentor who lets them explore. Stop comparing and start observing what YOUR child responds to.

4. Start younger than you think. Most parents wait until grades slip. The best time to find a mentor is when things are going well — it turns good into great instead of trying to fix bad.

5. Community matters more than curriculum. Kids who are surrounded by other motivated kids level up naturally. Find programs where the peer group is just as important as the instructor.
