Your customers are already filming your business. You're just not collecting it.

Ran the numbers on foot traffic UGC for a few Brooklyn venues this year and the pattern is always the same: the content already exists, nobody's capturing it.

A bartender pours a drink → someone's phone comes out. A table gets a plate that looks incredible → phone comes out. Someone's genuinely having a great night → phone comes out. That footage either dies in a camera roll or gets posted to a private story that disappears in 24 hours. Meanwhile the business is paying an agency $2-3k/month to manufacture the exact same energy from scratch.

The fix isn't a bigger ad budget. It's removing friction between "customer has good footage" and "business owns that footage."

Three things that actually move the needle for local spots:

  1. Kill the app download requirement. Anything that asks a customer to install something before they can share footage loses 90%+ of them at that step. QR → browser upload, no login, no app store.

  2. Show it back immediately. A TV or projector in-venue streaming customer clips in real time turns the collection process itself into content people want to be part of.

  3. Treat raw footage as a pipeline, not a one-off ask. One video isn't a marketing asset. A daily stream of raw clips, batched and edited weekly, is.

If you're running a bar, restaurant, boutique, or lounge in NYC and you're manually texting customers for videos or sorting through Instagram tags — you're doing the hardest part of content marketing manually. There's a better way to structure it.
