Why most pet accessories brands in India are doing it wrong
I started Bruni Boi after spending months looking for a collar that wouldn't irritate my French Bulldog Bruno's skin. Everything in the market was either cheap plastic that cracked in monsoon, or imported luxury at 5x the price.
So I decided to make my own — premium Napa leather, solid brass hardware, handcrafted by Indian artisans.
Here's what I've learned building a luxury pet brand in India:
The Indian pet market is exploding, but quality isn't keeping up. Pet parents are spending ₹50,000+ annually on their dogs but buying ₹200 collars from Amazon. There's a massive gap between what people are willing to spend and what's actually available.
Leather > everything else. Nylon fades. Fabric tears. Faux leather cracks. Full-grain Napa leather ages beautifully, is naturally water-resistant, and is gentle on your dog's skin.
Pet parents buy with emotion, not logic. The moment a customer sees their dog in a Bruni Boi collar, that's the sale. Our repeat rate proves it — people don't go back to generic accessories.
If you run a pet business, grooming salon, or pet-friendly café, I built a reseller program where you can offer Bruni Boi to your clients at wholesale pricing. DM me or check out the program here.
