Here's what I mean:

Most people start a build, Google the part number, buy the cheapest option on the first site that shows up, and hope for the best. Then it doesn't fit, it's the wrong revision, or it's straight-up counterfeit.

So they buy it again. Sometimes a third time.

What actually works:

• Join forums/groups specific to your chassis. The people who've already built your exact car know which vendors are legit and which parts are actually worth the money.

• Buy once, cry once. The $180 coilover set from a no-name brand is going to cost you $600 by the time you replace it with something that actually works.

• Always cross-reference OEM part numbers. Even if you're going aftermarket, knowing the OEM spec tells you if something is actually compatible.

• Ask before you buy. Seriously. A 30-second question in a group chat can save you weeks of waiting on returns.
