Why your 12-week program dies on day 12
The program didn't fail. The premise did.
Most plans are written for a person who meal-preps on Sunday, sleeps 8 hours, and has five untouched evenings. That person is not you on a real Tuesday. So you miss a session. Then you "wait until Monday." Then it's October and you're buying another program.
Here's the pattern I keep seeing:
Week 1: You follow it perfectly. You feel like a new person.
Week 2: One late night. You skip. You tell yourself you'll double up Thursday.
Week 3: Thursday becomes a "restart in January" speech.
The miss isn't the problem. Treating the miss like a verdict is.
Three rules that actually keep people training:
Today's session is the only session that matters. You don't make up Tuesday on Thursday. You train Thursday.
A 20-minute session counts. First lift, three sets, leave. That is a training day. Hero workouts after a skip are how people get hurt and quit.
Never miss twice because you missed once. That's the whole system.
If you need a program that assumes life will hit, that's what I built. If you don't — steal the three rules and go train today. Don't wait for Monday.
