Buyer Terms

These Buyer Terms apply when you use our Service to purchase Products from Sellers on Whop or through Whop Payments, and are part of our Terms of Service (including the Terms' arbitration agreement and class action waiver).

1. Payment Methods and Authorization

You may only use Whop-supported payment methods. By submitting details regarding your preferred payment method to our third-party payment processors (see Section 2), you authorize our partners to securely store your payment credentials and charge your preferred method for Products, taxes, fees, and other charges in accordance with these Terms. We may request additional information to complete transactions, verify your identity, prevent fraud, and satisfy legal requirements.

Each time you proceed to purchase Products via Whop, you authorize our Financial Partners to debit or charge your account, as appropriate, and as displayed on the checkout page. This includes recurring transactions, when disclosed.  See section 4 for more details.

When you provide a payment method, you authorize us to charge all amounts for your orders and Service fees. If you pay by credit card, we may pre-authorize your card to verify it's valid and has sufficient funds.

If you save a payment method to your account, you authorize us to maintain it and use it for future purchases. We or its Financial Partners may receive updated payment information from your card issuer (such as new card numbers or expiration dates) to prevent service interruptions.  To remove or change stored payment methods, visit your account profile.

Currency and International Transactions: All prices are displayed in USD unless otherwise specified. If you use a non-USD payment method, your card issuer or payment processor may charge currency conversion fees and foreign transaction fees, which are not controlled by us. Exchange rates are determined by your payment processor at the time of transaction.

2. Third-Party Payment Processors

We use third-party payment processors (including Stripe and PayPal) to facilitate transactions. Subject to applicable law, we are not responsible for processor errors or failures. If a processor rejects or reverses a transaction, we may suspend or terminate your Product access.

3. Fees and Pricing

Product Pricing.

Sellers determine the prices for their Products. When you purchase a Product, you'll see the total price including any applicable Seller-set fees and any taxes, if applicable, before completing your purchase.

Whop Service Fees.

We may charge service fees and transaction fees for use of the Service. If applicable, you'll have a chance to review and accept all Whop fees before paying. All fees are non-refundable unless specifically stated otherwise in these Terms. We may change our service fees at any time with advance notice, although you will also see applicable fees prior to your next transaction.

Promotions.

We may offer promotional discounts or coupon codes for Whop fees, subject to specific terms, restrictions, and expiration dates. Sellers may also offer their own promotions on Product pricing. Unless a promotion is offered directly to you, it doesn't apply to your purchases. Promotions cannot be combined unless explicitly stated and have no cash value.  All promotions are subject to applicable law.

4. Subscription Products

Some Products charge you automatically each billing period ("Subscription Products"). Your subscription starts on your first purchase date (your "Subscription Billing Date") and continues for the period specified at purchase.

Many subscriptions automatically renew unless you cancel or the Seller or we terminate them. When you activate a subscription, you authorize us to save your payment method and charge it each billing period until you cancel.

You must cancel before your renewal date to avoid being charged for the next period. Cancellation instructions can be found by visiting our Help Center.

5. One-Time Payment Products

Some Products are available through a single payment ("One-Time Payment Products"). Unless otherwise specified, your access begins immediately after payment.

All products have specific access periods disclosed at the time of purchase. We do not allow "lifetime" or perpetual access offers. If you see a listing claiming lifetime access, please report it to support@whop.com.

One-Time Payment Products do not renew, and no additional charges occur unless you make another purchase.

6. Free Trials

Some Products may offer free trial periods. When you start a free trial, you must provide a valid payment method. You will not be charged during the trial period, but you authorize us to charge your payment method when the trial ends unless you cancel before the trial period expires.

Free trials that you do not cancel automatically convert to paid subscriptions at the end of the trial period. You must cancel before the trial ends to avoid being charged. Cancellation instructions can be found by visiting our Help Center.

Some free trials may be limited to one per person, household, or payment method. We reserve the right to verify eligibility and deny free trials if we suspect abuse or fraud.

7. Gifting and Transfers

You may not gift Products to other users. You may not transfer purchases, access rights, or account benefits to another account. All purchases are tied to the purchasing account and are non-transferable.

8. Failed Payments

If a payment fails, we may, subject to applicable law and network rules:

  • Retry using the same payment method;
  • Charge a backup payment method if you've added one;
  • Request an alternative payment method;
  • Suspend or terminate your Product access if payment can't be completed.

For subscriptions, we may continue attempting payment until you cancel. You remain responsible for unpaid amounts. Continued payment failures may result in subscription cancellation or account suspension.

9. Seller Responsibility and Refunds

When you purchase a Product, you're buying from the Seller, not from Whop. We provide payment services through our Financial Partners but do not sell, own, create, control, or guarantee any Products. Sellers are solely responsible for their Products, including quality, descriptions, delivery, support, refunds, and legal compliance. You assume all risks when purchasing Products and we are not liable for any Products you purchase from Sellers.

Refunds are determined by each Seller's refund policy. Review the Seller's refund policy before purchasing. To request a refund, contact the Seller through our Resolution Center by following the instructions in our Help Center. Unless otherwise specified, refund requests must be made within 30 days of purchase. If a Seller approves a refund, it will be processed to your original payment method within 5-10 business days.

We may issue refunds at our discretion in cases of fraud, unauthorized charges, non-delivery, or if a Seller fails to provide the Product as described. For subscriptions, we may provide prorated refunds based on unused time.

10. Changes to Products and Pricing

For Subscriptions:

Sellers may change subscription fees for future periods with advance notice. If you don't agree to a price increase, cancel before the increase takes effect. Price changes apply starting with your next billing period.

Product Modifications:

Sellers may modify, update, or discontinue Products at any time. If a Seller discontinues a subscription you've purchased, it continues through your current period but won't renew. For One-Time Payment Products, access continues through your specified duration.

We are not responsible for Seller changes or discontinuations. If a Seller significantly reduces a Product's value or functionality, contact them through our Resolution Center.

11. Digital Content Licenses

When you buy access to a course, program, or digital product on Whop or Whop Payments (the "Content"), you are not buying ownership of that Content. Instead, you are purchasing a limited license to access and use it.

The Seller who created the Content owns all rights to it. Your use of any Content is subject to the Seller's own Terms and Conditions (if any) in addition to these Terms.

Subject to your compliance with these Terms and any applicable Seller Terms, Whop and the Seller grant you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, and non-transferable license to access and use the Content solely for your own personal purposes. This means you can access and use the Content for yourself, but you cannot grant access to others or transfer your license.

12. Prohibited Purchases

You agree not to:

  • Buy anything that's illegal for you to buy where you live
  • Buy products that require you to be older than you are, including age-restricted products if you haven't reached the required age
  • Purchase products that violate our Prohibited Products and Services Policy. If you see products that violate this policy, please report them to support@whop.com
  • Violate anyone else's rights or break any laws
  • Provide false payment information or use payment methods you don't own or aren't authorized to use

13. Account Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for any reason, including if you violate these Buyer Terms, our Terms of Service, engage in fraud, or for any other reason we deem necessary to protect Whop, Sellers, or other users. We may also suspend or terminate your account to investigate potential violations.

Account Suspension:

If your account is suspended, your access to purchased Products will be suspended during the suspension period. If your account is restored, access to your purchases will be restored and any accrued refunds will be provided.

Account Termination:

If your account is terminated by us for violating these Terms, you will lose access to all purchased Products and will not receive refunds. If you voluntarily close your account, you will lose access to all purchases.

Seller Blocks or Restrictions:

If a Seller blocks you or restricts your access to their Product, we are not responsible for loss of access. Contact the Seller through our Resolution Center to resolve the issue. We may assist at our discretion but do not guarantee resolution or refunds.

14. Payment Disputes

Please use our Resolution Center before filing a bank dispute. Please visit our Help Center for instructions.
