ARE YOU READY FOR THE SEASON OR JUST EXCITED FOR IT?

Right now, high school players are preparing for tryouts while overseas players are reporting to new teams, learning new systems, and competing for roles.

At both levels, excitement is not enough.

My answer: Being ready means your conditioning is where it needs to be, your body can handle consecutive practices, your game is sharp, and you understand exactly how you can help a team win. You do not need every move in the world. You need two or three things your coach can trust immediately.

Question for the hoopers: What are you preparing for right now: high school tryouts, your school season, college, overseas, or something else? What is the biggest part of your game you still need to improve before it begins?
