Why most Pokémon card sellers are leaving money on the table

I've been in the Pokémon TCG market for years, and the same mistakes keep costing sellers hundreds — sometimes thousands.

Mistake #1: Pricing based on TCGPlayer market price alone.

Market price is a lagging indicator. If a card just won a Regional, the real market price is already 20-40% higher than what TCGPlayer shows. By the time the site updates, the spike is over.

Mistake #2: Sleeping on bulk.

Everyone chases the chase cards. But the real margins are in bulk — trainers, energy lots, and common playables that competitive players need 4-ofs of. A $0.25 card you have 200 of is a $50 sale with zero effort.

Mistake #3: Not grading strategically.

Don't grade everything. Grade cards that jump 3x+ in value at PSA 9/10. A raw $15 card that grades a 10 and becomes $150? That's a grade. A raw $5 card that becomes $12? Skip it.

I built CardDex so collectors, players, and investors can trade smarter — with a community that actually knows what cards are worth.
