Most people fail the network associate exam because they confuse consumption with practice.

They finish a 40-hour playlist. They cannot subnet /26 in their head. They cannot tell you what a switch does with an unknown unicast. Then they blame the exam.

The fix is ugly and it works:

• Draw the topology before you configure it.

• Time 10 subnetting problems every day. Write the misses on a list. Redo the list tomorrow.

• Labs first, videos second. If a video does not help you finish a lab, skip it.

• Explain the packet path out loud: host → switch → router → WAN. If you stall, that topic is next.

Career changers do not have 6 months to "feel ready." Eight focused weeks beats a year of half-watching.
