Stop buying these 4 cleaning products (you're wasting money)
The cleaning product industry is a marketing machine. Half the stuff under your sink is redundant or straight up unnecessary.
1. Toilet bowl "cleaning" clips
Those blue clips that hang inside the bowl? They mask odor and tint water. They don't clean anything. A weekly scrub with a toilet brush and a basic cleaner does the actual work.
2. Stainless steel "polish" spray
Baby oil on a microfiber cloth. Same result, fraction of the cost. Wipe WITH the grain. Done.
3. Multi-surface "disinfectant" wipes for everyday cleaning
You don't need to disinfect your kitchen counter every day unless someone in your house is sick. A damp microfiber cloth handles 99% of daily cleaning. Save the disinfectant for when it matters.
4. Scented trash bags
They don't cover the smell — they create a weird lavender-garbage hybrid. The actual fix: sprinkle baking soda at the bottom of the bin, take trash out before it's overflowing, and clean the bin itself once a month.
What you actually need:
White vinegar (hard water, glass, deodorizer)
Baking soda (scrubbing, deodorizer — but NOT mixed with vinegar)
Dawn dish soap (grease cutter, all-purpose base)
Microfiber cloths (buy a 20-pack, use them for everything)
One good all-purpose spray (I like Method or Mrs. Meyer's)
That's it. Five things. Your whole house.
